Apron Update

Well, if you must know, I'm CRAZY! Wait... if you know me at all, you already knew that! I have decided to make 30 aprons in 2 1/2 weeks (all while recovering from an INSANE summer as well as start my studio back up and get ready for our cruise!). I am going to attempt to sell them at Peach Days in Utah. I hope they sell! Any that don't sell, will go to etsy assuming that I can set up shop there. My poor husband has been so kind to help me keep up on the house work so that I can sew like a mad women and get this all done! Wish me luck! PS... I am trying to decide on a price for my aprons... do you think $15 is too much?

I think 15 bucks is a steal!! I think you should charge 20. My friend makes some down in Utah and sells them for 45 so I don't think 15 is too much!

Hey there! I found your blog!

Your aprons are adorable! 15 bucks is a 50% profit on materials right? I'd make sure you're at least getting double back, for your time.

Aren't hubby's nice when we get into our busy projects? :)

I'm making some aprons for Jennifer's little boutique thing next weekend, but I'm doing mostly little girlie ones.

Good luck at Peach Days and make millions!

Now listen to your Auntie...how much fabric does it take to make them? At least a yard, I imagine. You need to double the price of your fabric and any trim that's going on the apron. Then add a few bucks on top of that. Now here is how I would price them: $17-$18 per apron, or two for $30. That way, it's a deal to purchase two. If the aprons aren't selling after a couple of hours, you can reduce the price.

I too, am sewing like a mad woman. My day for the Market is at the end of September, yikes!

I love you!

$15 is too low. I just paid $20 at Walmart and $25 at Wegmans( but the Wegmans one was canvas and had a lot of neat pockets where I needed them). NEITHER were cute.. darling like yours!

Remember at things like Peach Days people will bicker so price hgher to allow for that

I would definitely charge at least $20, and the previous comment is good advice-just reduce them if they aren't selling. We will come see you at Peach Days! I LOVE Peach Days!

And your salsa looks so good. I love homemade salsa!

Dear Donna :)

I am so sad I could not find you and Dana at Peach Days, I didn't know she was going to have her booth at her Grandpa's instead of the actual Peach Days booths. Did it go well?

BTW, if you are serious about coming to see us, we are COMPLETELY up to it! We would love to have you guys ANYTIME! We don't have much going on, so any time is good! I have three day weekends every week (fridays off!) and we can work something out with Derek's schedule if needed. We would really love to see you, so let us know!

Hope all is well in I.F.!!
