Mother's Day

For me, Mother's Day can be kind of sad, only for selfish reasons. I have a wonderful mother who has taught me and loved me more than anyone I know. We talk almost every day and often for an hour. I treasure the things she has taught me and talents she shares with me. Since being married, I have wanted to be a mother. Actually, I have wanted to be a mother since I got my first doll. I was often very "motherly" as a child and truthfully, still am. (I like to be the boss!) This year, I decided that I could make Mother's Day a happy one by serving others. We have some very dear friends that lost their mother this past January, so we decided to have them over for brunch. It was a wonderful morning and Jonathan was VERY helpful in the kitchen! (He made the muffins all by himself!) We all had a great time and it really did help me from being bitter about not being a mom yet.
